New Yorkers picking up pre-orders - How'd it go?

I pre-ordered via online Applestore for pickup today. Only option at the time was pickup in-store. Just wondering how much time I need to set aside this afternoon to pickup in Soho. Do they have to set it up there or can I bring it home and restore it here? I do have to extend my expired service contract.

Got to the Soho store for my res at 2:30 am and was probably the 50th or so person on the reservation line. The line moved really fast after the store opened. I was probably done and out of the store by 7:40. The non res line was around 3 city blocks!

Wow 50 people at 2:30AM?! That's insane! I remember showing up for the iPhone 3G launch (no pre-orders back then) at 4AM and getting a comfortable #10 spot on the line overall.

I have a reservation for today but I'm pretty sure I'm going to wait for the white one.

Did you "grab-and-go" or have them set it up there and transfer everything?
