Newb Question - Want to network unlock 4.1

Here's the info for my phone: 3GS OS:4.1

It's jailbroken but needs to be unlocked. What's the best approach here?

Can it be done? If so, what's the easiest method? This is for someone else. Any links are helpful as well.

Not sure what the basband/modem is, or if it matters.

Unlock is based on baseband. I believe your phone has a 05.14 baseband which can't be unlocked at this time.

You can find out about your phone baseband by;

Setting/general/about

then look at the bottom where it says "Modem firmware". This is your baseband.

There is option to unlock 05.14 baseband, but if you do it, your Iphone will loose its GPS functionality.
