Can I use the basic watch function of my new watch without syncing it to an iPhone. I will get my watch on Wednesday but not get my new iPhone until Friday and want to use it just as a watch until my phone arrives..........is that possible?

You have to pair the watch with an iPhone first before you can do anything with it including just telling the time.
Sh}t..............ah well I guess I have got to wait until Friday

Just sync to a friend or a demo phone in the apple store , then turn on airplane mode on the watch...that way if you use a friend , you wont get his notifications.
