Two questions about iChat. Is there a setting on the computer to make it so I'm not signed out of iChat when the computer is closed?

Also, is there a setting so the IMs are not in speech bubbles and look just like a regular IM?

Thanks a ton!

You'd have to use a program like InsomniacX, as the computer will go to sleep when closed regularly. I think there is probably a setting to not use bubbles in iChat, but I use Adium.

If you right click on a chat window you'll get an option to show balloons,
boxes, compact, or text.

I didn't like the balloons at first but I love them now. I'd give them a chance... they might grow on you.

Per the first. Closed lid = computer in sleep mode = no internet = ichat disconnects. If you want iChat to stay connected then (as someone said) you'll need another program so that your computer stays on while the lid is closed. IMO not a good idea but to each his own.
