I am interested in learning how to create something like this on my Mac?

http://i4.tinypic.com/6tumv4g.gif

So I have found that you need to take these steps to get your video footage from youtube

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jZVKkNGZZQw

but then once you have the video, how do you separate the scene and convert it into a motion gif file like the one I opsted above?

I am running Leopard with imovie, but have not really used it yet. Any tutorial links or advice would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I use Adobe Photoshop CS3 to do that, using the Animation palette (previous to CS3 you would use Adobe ImageReady). You can import a video and save it as an Animated GIF.

But without purchasing anything, I don't really know how you would do it. Maybe Google could turn up something?

Thanks! I will give it a shot.
