and install it to my Mac Mini, will it also be on my Macbook and iPad or do I buy it for each of them? I know simple apps I download for the iPad appear on the iPhone, but what about the premium apps like Pages?

Thanks

App Store Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
At the App Store, you can browse and download applications for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. Applications from the App Store can be downloaded to, but not used on, your computer. To use an application from the App Store, simply sync it to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
The only exception is if an app is iPhone only or iPad only, in which it can only be installed on particular devices.

If you buy an app at the Mac App Store, it will be available on all of your other Macs that are tied to the same Mac App Store account. So your other Macs must be able to access the MAS, which means it must be running at least OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard.

Your Mac apps will not run on your iOS devices and vice versa. Also, buying an app for the Mac will not automatically give you the same app on iOS ... for instance, buying Pages for Mac will not give you Pages for iPad.

Thanks so much for the info guys.

Someone told me that the iPhone is just a gateway drug for Apple, and it's true, lol. I got a Mac Mini and look forward to a 13" Macbook Pro when it comes out with the retina display.

Mac App Store.
The OP's post is not completely clear. They mention installing apps on the mini and wanting them on the iPad, but then they ask:
I know simple apps I download for the iPad appear on the iPhone, but what about the premium apps like Pages?
Those apps are not from the Mac App Store. The thread appears to be in the wrong forum.
