i'm about to jailbreak 4.1 now using the greenpois0n on mac os. when i plug my ip4 the itunes pop up and sync goes on. the question is do i need to eject my ip4 before jailbreaking or just leave the itunes and iphone hooked up?

Every Jailbreak is done differently when they come out with a new one.

If this is done by the computer you leave it plugged in. Thats how it's being jail broken.

I don't think it matters whether or not iTunes is running. Just make sure iTunes isn't trying to sync while you run the jailbreak.

ok i'll shut itunes and jb it. stay tuned. hope everything goes well.

failed

ok right now the jailbreak says failed and i cant on my ip4. what should i do?

I've heard of other people getting confused by a message in greenpois0n that looks like it means the JB has failed, but it really isn't, and they just have to wait and let the process finish. So try again, and just wait it out. Or just try limera1n, it doesn't throw out such confusing messages.

well i tried it again and now it is jailbroken i suppose? and i saw a loader so i get it on and it says loading sources. i dont see any cydia?

alright, so far so good. cydia all done. so now i'm officially jailbroken.
