Got this available update from my current macOS Monterey 12.6.1 for my MacBook Air (M1, 2020) M1. Sometimes its better to wait a bit to for any kinks etc to get sorted out before updating to the latest OS. I use my Mac for general internet use; watching some short vidoes on youtube and NO gaming. Is this update worth or skip it until the next OS comes out. I don't want to update it if its going to cause issues with apps etc and are currently all working correctly.

All good on Ventura. The only major issues you should be aware of are pinch to zoom glitch (you can search it on MacRumors) and some people don't like the new settings look (it can be also slow on some Macs). It's safe to update, considering you have M1 MacBook and you don't use some specific software which wasn't updated by developers yet.

there's no one answer to this, as people have different experiences, based on their apps, hardware, needs.

here, ventura's been great all-along (great, not perfect) on my intel & M2 macs. and if you're concerned about specific apps, ask about them here (or google for ventura compatibility).

back up everything first before updating (always)...

I upgraded yesterday on both my M1 MBA and M1 MBP16 and been nothing but problems. ICloud crashed on both until I deleted ExpressVPN completely from the system even when it wasn't running. And, my external SSD and SD card speeds slowed to a crawl with Lightroom. I tested the speeds with BlackMagic Speed Test and they're 1/3 of those before the upgrade from Monterey.

If you don't have replaced parts, Startup Security Password or crazy iCloud system -- shouldn't be any problems
+ connect your Mac to power even if battery is full of charge, and don't close the lid

I use my M1 Pro MBP with Dell U2723QE in clamshell mode. I also use anaconda for my work. Are you aware of any issues. Currently I'm running 12.6.2 and it mostly fine only occasionally I see problem. Is 13.1 faster than 12.6.2?

So far, Safari has been kinda choppy for me on Ventura 13.1 when scrolling certain webpages (I waited to upgrade from Monterey). Also Preview got choppy with me when I was adding my signature and dragging an empty text box to where I needed it. I never experienced choppiness on Monterey. I'm using a Mac Studio M1 Ultra with 64GB of ram and 64 core gpu. 🤔

Edit: I just upgraded yesterday morning, so maybe some of my occasional choppiness is spotlight indexing or something.

Hard to tell. Definitely Ventura is not struggle with Mac, but there are minor bugs though.
In your case no problems, you have a decent machine, maybe first 10-20 mins you would notice slight slowdown (macOS gets things ready, + "background paperwork")
