Newbie Q About Logic 8 piano roll skipping when copy paste

This is prpbly an easy one.

But when im editing a midi track in piano roll and using cmd+c, the playhead always skips to the end of the song - resulting in me having to find the location i was working on all over again. Pretty annoying of yr building drumtracks in the piano roll editor, like i am.
