newbie question (Leopard on MacBook Pro)

with Leopard being delay until October I think I might go ahead with my MBP purchase, but say if my sis in-law is going to buy an iMac when Leopard come out, can I use her installation CD with Leopard and install into my MBP?

There's also the fact that the disks that come with a new Mac have a custom install of the OS on there, which is specific to the model of computer. Installing Leopard from an iMac disk onto a MacBook Pro isn't advisable.
