I have a new HomePod as of today. After getting frustrated that it would not setup as my WiFi network was incompatible, a reboot of my iPad seemed todo the trick after disconnect/reconnect of WiFi and I have it playing and pleased so far with the sound - though Siri is not too accurate finding albums or tracks (I do have Apple Music) But I can live with that.

However more importantly there are no good instructions about using it that I could find. For example, is there an off or on switch, and if not then is it safe for me to just unplug it and put it in another room ? Do Ihave to set it up each time I move? The purpose of it was to be able to share in different rooms by moving it around!

Sorry for what appears to be a ridiculous question but Apple should have made this clearer, unless I missed it online somewhere. Thanks.

No switch, just unplug.

Move to wherever you like and as long as it’s got access to your WiFi it will just work. The only time it being in a different room that would cause any problems if you are using a smart home set up with lights etc. By default the HomePod will only turn off or on the lights in the room that it believes it is in.

Oh great thanks! An unrelated question is that Siri wont add a track or album to my music library saying I do not have an Apple Music sub but I do. Is there a setting somewhere, looked in Home app but cant see anything.

Feel such a dumbo, but then Apple should provide clearer setup instructions.

Thanks.

Yes. Or long press on it in the home app. Then the cog button at the bottom. Then scroll down. Then reset... then restart

Great, all working, thanks :) Hopefully the last question, I set it up with my iPad not my iPhone. Do I need to set it up again with my iPhone as well?

ITS ok, its working now, sheesh, Apple need to improve their instructions else I am happy :) many thanks.
