I was reading on wiki that you cannot use leopard to patch appletv to add plugins and usb drive.If you cannot where do you get the patch to patch your apple tv

You need a file that's on the Tiger install disk but isn't on the Leopard one, hence the requirement for Tiger. However, you can find this file for download in a few places, so it's not necessarily a problem.
