I made the jump from just using Windows Computer to an iPad about 3 years ago. I am amazed at how much I can do with an iPad.

I have an iPhone as well.

I just now made the jump to a Mac Mini M4 which should arrive soon. I have no experience with MacOS at all. Does anything I learned on iPad transfer over to using Mac? Or must I begin anew as I did with Ipad OS?

I have used iPad mostly for online research and webpage viewing. I now need to do regular coursework.

Any suggestions on how best to begin?

If you want to learn the basic to more complicated stuff look up a YouTube channel called macmost. He does paid courses, but you don’t need those. Just watch his YouTube videos. He’s got basic introductions to macOS and all kinds of tips and advice.

As to how to use it the same as a Windows PC for me. There are a few things that work differently and the best thing to do is learn how do it on a Mac rather than trying to modify it. Of course everyone has their preferences so if that’s not possible sometimes you have to change things. I just say always try at the intended way for a little bit.

If you can afford it get a good monitor. It’s how you view everything so it makes the experience so much better. Of course that’s a big “if you can afford it” because if you’re on a tight budget, then don’t spend ridiculous amount of money for a monitor. That’s just something I realized after going from a Mac mini to an iMac. I didn’t know what I was missing and now I would never want to go back.

Thank you. I just found a good deal on an Apple Studio Display. So that should work great with the Mac Mini M4 (I got Pro version as I was unsure if regular Mac Mini would be sufficient. Also upgraded to 1 TB).
