ok so i dont get it i have been a macrumors member since february. and it still says macrumors newbie. how do i change that? is there something i have to do?

Wrong thread - but that's to do with the number of the posts you've made. Details are in the FAQ/Rules section.

That's ok, I am still a Newbie on a site where I was registered for 5 years. Recently, couldn't even post a thread there, since they require 10 posts to make one.

The rules are now linked directly from the registration agreement, so no one will need to hunt for them. Makes it a lot easier to read them before you say you'll follow them!

We've also added some useful links for new members to the activation mail newly-registered members receive.
