Newbiw Question - Itunes compatability pos unlock & jaibreak ?t

Hi,

I want to purchase a UK 16gb Iphone runninng 1.1.3 from Carphone Warehouse and then run it on a Vodafone sim, however the assistant put me off when he said that he believed that an unlocked & jaibroken phone would not work with Itunes so all my music & podcasts would not be available. I updave my podcasts daily & hence this woulf be a mator problem.

Any advice /reassurance gladly recieved.
