I have a NT Gmax with two esata barracudas 4tb running on a stipe raid 0 (8tb) which is connected to my Mac mini via a LaCie esata thunderbolt hub. I get about 230 megabitser second on black magic on both read and write. Theoretically it could run just as fast when I get usb3 and can run the Gmax that way. But I am wondering if that will still be the case because esata is a clear through put in Sata while usb3 needs to covert the data does it not? Any experiences on the Gmax on esata versus usb3? I am guessing most will be running mirror as well but still I would be interested to know comparisons. I understand usb3 operates at 5gb while the esata hub is only 3gb but I still think esata is more efficient with data transfer.

Thoughts?

hi,
the enclosure chipset is based on a sata2 architecture so 240-250mb/sec is the top speed you will see and it should be the same for esata and usb3...
please post the jumper settings for raid0 and jbod since they are difficult to find...please!!!!!
thanks!
