Newertech Guardian Maximus fan noise

Hi

is there any Newerth Guardian Maximus enclosure user here ?

i was wondering if i could disconnect the fan from the enclosure without having hard drives overheating ?

because i hate the fan noise and i feel like fans are useless for raid enclosures as many don't have fans (like Western Digital RAID enclosures)
