I'm very busy at work and do not have time to deal with Apple's ridiculous plethora of dongles and adapters to be carried around with me.

What is the newest Macbook Pro I can get and still have a standard USB slot and not this USB-C nightmare?

I'm thinking the MF841LL/a from March of 2015

Anyone know for certain?? I'm looking for the 256GB or greater hard drive and 16GB of RAM. Thanks.

I bought a 2015 13" MacBook Pro for the same reasons as the OP.

In December 2016, it was still possible to get them new.

Some of the ebay "high-volume" resellers may still have some "new old stock" left.

Otherwise, I would recommend an Apple-refurbished unit.

thanks guys found a gently used MF843ll/a with the 3.1Ghz and 16GB ram on eBay. No dongles or adapters needed! Hope Apple comes to their senses with their design process or else I won't be buying a Mac again, ever

Looks like the OP already has a solution, but for anyone else: the old 15" MJLQ2LL model is still available new from Apple in store and at https://www.apple.com/shop/buy-mac/macbook-pro?product=MJLQ2LL/A&step=config#. It doesn't look like there's still a 13" model.

On it's own this is the low-end config but can be configured with more SSD or faster CPU. Sadly the memory and CPU will still be slower than this years model though.

I do agree with the complaints about no regular USB or other traditional ports on the new models :(
