edgew8 macrumors regular Dec 8, 2008 166 0 Mar 12, 2009 #2 I don't own a powermac but have you tried a PMU/SMU reset? also, are the boot times so horrid that you have to use the sleep function? shutting down and powering on would solve the problem pretty fast, hehe

California macrumors 68040 Original poster Aug 21, 2004 3,885 90 Mar 12, 2009 #3 It happens when i go away from the computer for any length of time. Apple said today to make sure fireware updates are done and that it could be a hardware issue... thank God it is still under their warranty.
