Hi all,

I'm on the verge of getting Dreamweaver, but I noticed that the current version has been out for nearly a year (~11 months). I looked at the last product cycle (MX --> MX 2004) and that was ~14 months.

Do we have anyone around here 'in the know' or who could fathom an educated guess as to whether or not we will see a new Dreamweaver release in the coming months? I don't want to have to pay for an upgrade just a few months after I buy the full version!

Thanks!

~Roy

By tradition Macromedia have [in the past] worked on an eighteen month release cycle. So, it could be anything between now and another seven months before anything is announced.

Now then, annoucements are a Macromedia things as well - they have a policy in place where by new releases are announced no sooner than sixty days prior to the official release date.

The general concensus on the MM forums is that MX 2005 will be here "some time soon", but how soon nobody knows!

I hope this helps in some way!!

I'd have to go back and double-check this, but I seem to recall MM liking to release their big upgrades either in April-May or August-September, with MX 2004 being a 3Q '03 release (iirc). I would look for MX 2005 to be announced in February with an April ship date.
