I've been looking at a 30in display; costs are coming down, you can get a DELL 3007 for around $1100. I began to wonder what can Apple do to update their next releases of ACDs. I thought:

Improved LCDs with higher contrast ratios
HDCP compliant HDMI inputs
thinner mullion--looks more like all screen
integrated iSight
LEDs, though they may be expensive on the larger monitors

on the latter, an iSight camera at the top of a 30in is going to be way up high! It woud be better to have the camera integrated in the screen somehow.

Many of those features are becoming standard on today's crop of monitors. When they were first introduced, the ACDs were design (and performance) wonders. One has to wonder what can (will) apple do to raise the bar once more?
