next gen portable harddrives

I'm in the market for a new portable harddrive. portable not only meaning small but I also want it to be usb/firewire powered. does anyone know if there are new ones comming soon? I just don't want to read the next day that they doubled the capacity or somthing like that. And is there is something out there larger than 500 gb that is still portable?

Right now 500 gigs is the limit for a 2.5" size HDD, we might see the capacity upped to 750 or 1tb in the next 12 months however.

All depends on if they can deliver single platters with that capacity
