Hi

I'm very new to macs and so far am very impresed.

However I need some help please.

In the image viewer Preview, I can not seem to perform the simple task of moving to the next image in the folder using say the right and left arrow.

Is there a way of doing this please?

Before you say put the images in the iphoto folders this seems to cause the following problem.

When opening a Nikon RAW in Photoshop from the iphoto folders it imports it as a jpg whether I want it to or not.

Many thanks for any help
Will...

Open the folder, press Apple + A (select all) and then right click and open with Preview (or click and drag the files down onto the Preview icon in the dock) - then you can preview all the files in the folder.

Alternatively just select the number of files you want to open in finder.

By the way, my Nikon RAW files in iPhoto open up in Photoshop as RAW, so not sure what you're doing there to make it open as a JPEG. Probably a PS setting.

Yeah this is odd becuase if i put the RAW files in a new folder in Documents or even on the desktop they open as RAW file just fine in PP, but when I select from an iphoto folder (Events I think it is) they get converted to jpg on the way in.

I continue to investigate

How do you open them in PS? I select it in iPhoto and then drag it down to the dock and it opens in PS's RAW editor.

I'm using Elements by the way but it worked when I had CS2.

Ok I just tried that but it still came in as a jpg.
I'm using CS4

All I can suggest is, in iPhoto, go to Preferences > Andvanced and make sure "Use RAW in external editor" (or something like that) is ticked.

Sorted

When opening a file it gives the option to open as a Camera RAW... yeeeeha
