Does anyone have any idea what kind of a hardware upgrade we're going to see in the next iphone update? Also when that might take place? I'm really hoping it is a juicy enough upgrade for me to cancel my Verizon contract and pick one up......Like I'd be in if they bumped it up to a 32 GB.

How the hell would somebody know?

Probably no major hardware upgrades for awhile.
Although, a 32GB model is expected to be released in January at MacWorld 2009.

If all you want is 32GBs then cancel your contract now and move over to AT&T. The 16GB phone is nice enough as is, and outside of new hardware that will work on the CDMA network (Sprint/Verizon iPhone) there isn't anything Apple could add that would make the phone any nicer.

For me, outside of Sprint's amazingly faster than AT&T's network, I'd like to at least have a stronger body. The current iPhone is WAY to fragile.

Hardware or software?

So you're saying that it's possible (or likely?) that the iphone will become available for Verizon within 6 months or so? (srry if its a dumb question, i havent been keeping up)

Doubtful. More likely in about 3 years when the original contract ends. AT&T could end it early, but I think they reached some "solidifying" agreement when they changed the pricing for the 3G. Apple probably wants to let the other providers see their touch screen attempts fail and then BEG for the iPhone (that's what Apple would hope for).
