So now that the 8GB iPod Touch 1G can be bought for $200 or less and the 8GB 2G is listed at $230, when will Apple expect to cut the price again or release an iPod Touch 3G?

Probably next year some time, but who knows?

And the iPod Touch 2G just came out, why don't you get one of those?

I saw how easily Apple just slashed $100 off the iPod Touch 1G, so I am thinking about waiting for the iPod Touch 2G to drop in price and to have the 2.0x firmware pre-installed at the factory.

The 2nd gens come with 2.1.1 installed.

iPods will probably always have September updates.

Thus, September 2009.... are we predicting?

• Shuffles $25 & $49 (same size and shape)
• Nanos $99 & $149 (same size, shape, maybe more function but I doubt it)
• iPT $199 (8BG), $249 (16 BG), $299 (32 GB), $399 (64GB), $499 (160GB Classic drive) (All with same size and shape, but a thicker classic touch)

All touches will have cameras, aside from 8GB.

Classics gone, now in the touch line with one version.

Thanks. I was wondering if Apple had a tradition of making announcements like this on certain months/days. I will definitely wait for the iPod Touch 2G to hit the shelves and look around for the best deal.

8GB will be discountuned. Touch will only use flash drives. Classics will remain till at least 2011, 10 years AFTER the original ipod launched. 2011 will have 10 year ipod and 2012 willl be all touch
