Am what to buy an MacBook Air, but when can we expect a new version from Apple? Just don't want to buy an outdated model.

You're good to go. The next Macbook Air will have the Haswell CPU which is going to be a bit faster on the GPU but don't expect anything major.

With the inclusion of USB 3.0 It appears that you can safely buy a MBA now without something obviously missing coming out in the next version.

The next Macbook Air will be an incremental update. Internals will be updated, but there will be no retina or new design.

I'm getting the 2012 Air tonight at Best Buy, only $1025!
