Would be so awesome, Alienware just threw in some 3D (don't care) 120hz (do care) screens in their new laptops.. as well as Sandy Bridge processors

120hz I feel would be great. Movies, video games, etc would all have increased clarity especially with motion, and high level gamers would finally have the matching screen refresh rate to match mouse polling. Could Apple do something like this for the next refresh??

Whenever you see a 120hz TV you always think man that is crisp. I feel a professional grade notebook / iMac for that matter should have the same.

I can honestly say this wouldn't make me want to buy a new notebook at all

Without 3D support, 120Hz would be mostly useless. I doubt Apple would slim their margins to include an upgrade that most consumers wouldn't notice.

personally i really dislike all those high refresh "smooth motion" tvs when i see them at the store. maybe i'm just being a film snob, but i prefer the cadence of 24fps footage. i'm not even sure how the 120hz tvs get that smoothed look. i mean how could they generate the added in-between frames?

anyway, i'd much prefer an ips screen before a 120hz screen. i find i'm always tilting my laptop screen to compensate for the washed out or shadowy off-angle images. if they can fit it in an ipad and an iphone, surely it can be justified for a "pro" notebook...
