I was hoping Apple would announce some new hardware when they announced the official release date for Leopard. Has anyone heard when they will announce a new MacBook Pro?

sounds like probably before the holidays. with the rumors of ultra-thin mac lappies and intel's new processors i am sure something is in the works. hopefully all higher end macs(i know all macs are higher end, i just mean the higher end of the higher end) will be running the Penryn line by next spring-summer time.:apple:

No new MBPs until Penryn in January. MBs will be upgraded first.

Agreed - you won't see a new MacBook Pro until Q1 2008 at the earliest with the possible exception of the ultra-portable if the rumors are to be believed (I went with the 17" version so couldn't care less). Generally you should be looking for Intel to be releasing a new processor or chip range before Apple is liable to release new versions of their products. Penryn is up next and I've heard that there are quad-core laptop processors in the works so expect a refresh for those as well.
