This lockdown has made my day! In order to keep everyone happy while I work (on the 2017 imac) I rolled out my G4 powerbook for one twin (home work) and the G5 quad (with 30inch screen for the other delighted boy). A great justification to 'her indoors' for keeping the old faithfulls. However this sudden interest has permitted me to look at PCI-e expansion possibilities.

I should like to add an extra USB2 card, the G5 has one spare PCI-e slot. Sonnet did an Allegro I believe but those are Hens' Teeth and so v costly. Chinese ones on eBay are not PCI-e even though they say they are (wrong fitting). So do you guys have other makes or preferences? I am presuming the driver will not recognise a PCI-e USB 3 card - even to be used as USB 2.

Greetings!

Any USB 2.0 card with NEC chip (avoid VIA chips).

Cheers, Nikola!
