Nextel Text Messaging Problem

I can not send text messages to my friends with nextel. Has anyone else experienced this? When i recieve text messages from people with nextel their number shows in the text screen before the message they sent. My iphone shows that i sent a message to the person wih nextel but they dont recieve it. How can i fix this.

I wouldn't worry, I would bet money the problem is with the Nextel phone. I have a Nextel phone and do not get text messages that people send me all the time, or get them hours later. Tell your friends to turn off their phone about once a day for about 10 mins, I find that it helps and I usually get the text messages when I turn my phone back on. Yeah Nextel sucks. 4 days till I get my iPhone..

Nextel has terrible text messaging. I also have nextel and wow, terrible.

I don't have one friend with nextel I can successfully text... heh.

I was with nextel for years. It's their problem not yours. I would always get some late, sometimes a day late or more. After switching to verizon, all those problems went away. Everything still working great now that I'm with att.

I use to have that problem too with TMobile. There was a huge delay between my phone and my friends, who had Nextel. Seems switching to AT&T actually made it better. But now, I'm unable to text people with SouthernLinc (although I can receive them). I talked to AT&T and they said it was definitely a problem on their end...

i had this same problem with my friend who has verizon. i've been a long time att/cingular/att customer and, for the longest time, would never receive her texts. she would never get mine either. but, by the grace of god, the iPhone has solved our problem and texting my best friend works!
