McNair and the woman found with him aren't dead a day yet and I ran into the remark below posted in a comments section under a Washington Post account of the incident.

"Who said anything about a robbery? It is just as likely to be a murder/suicide"

So talk about shocking and sad. That post is as callous from the soul as the gunner that shot McNair.

Both shocking and senseless its a shame that someone like McNair only gets noticed in death instead of celebrating his life both personally and in the NFL. I guess good guys aren't good stories, but Vick and Stallworth.....

CNN is reporting today that McNair was shot multiple times in the head
I would think that would rule out him being the perpetrator of a murder/suicide

I am sure there will be many details to come out today
And it will take a good while to untangle this story

Steve was the quarterback I grew up with, first getting interested in my homestate of Tennessee's Titans. RIP Steve.. my thoughts and prayers to the McNair family. :(

What a sad story and bullet/s to the head? That guy was a gamer for sure. Sounds like such a bizarre ending. Perhaps it was a murder suicide? But the girl would've had to shoot him first and then herself if he had multiple head wounds.

Air McNair

Officials said that the gun was found next to the woman, so yeah, it sounds like Phil Hartman all over again. They also say they're "not actively looking for suspects", which usually means that the only suspects were in the room.

dang, where did you find that update?

very sad. 4 young boys lost a dad.

of course, we're only hearing reports, but it doesn't like a good situation to say the least - it sure sounds like this other woman was his gf and she shot him then herself. if that's the case and his wife didn't know, then that's even more horrifying for his wife.

i guess he's been known to frequent this condo which was in both names (McNair and the girl) and they were out together the other night when she was caught for DUI.

maybe she's just a friend who wanted more or maybe she was a gf who wanted him to leave his wife.

who knows, but it is sad that 4 boys lost their dad. terrible.

"Police said they found McNair and a woman identified as Sahel Kazemi shot to death after receiving a phone call about an injured person.

McNair's body was found seated on a living room sofa, authorities said.

Kazemi sustained a gunshot wound to the head, authorities said. Police also said a pistol was found near her body.

Autopsies were scheduled for Sunday.

Asked whether the shooting was a murder-suicide, Don Aaron, spokesman for the Nashville Metropolitan Police Department, said investigators have not classified the incident. He said investigators have not ruled out anything but added that they were not "actively looking at suspects" Saturday night."

Now, I'm no rocket scientist, but...

- McNair was shot multiple times
- Kazemi was shot once
- A gun was found near her body
- Police are not actively looking at suspects

Sad day for his family. And to think I had him on my fantasy football team once too.

It does appear to be a murder/suicide..

"On Thursday, Nashville police had arrested Kazemi on a DUI charge while driving a 2007 Escalade registered to her and McNair. McNair was in the front seat, but didn't break the law and was allowed to leave by taxi."

Seems like she was ticked off at him because he got to go home and she got busted.
