I thought this is a very interesting article. Up to recently, always thought the sole reason of the 5C was to provide a 'new' lower cost phone since some people hesitate to buy a 1 or 2 year old phone. Turns out that Apple's margins on the 4 and 4s are slimmer than the 5 since they are relatively expensive to manufacture. And the 5 not gonna cut it

This I guess enforces the rumor that 5 will be retired come September 10th, since the iPhone 5c will pretty much have the 5 internals in a new plastic package - hopefully at the $450 pricepoint.

This is pretty much the same thing we've been saying for a while now. 5C will replace all lower end phones due to lower manufacturing costs while still being more up to date than the previous cheaper phones.

Same thing that happened to all the unsold iPad 3: They go to other retailers, and some stock is saved for Applecare.
