Some backstory for you - I pre-ordered my 64gb iPhone 6 (AT&T) via an early upgrade. I got the phone, THEN was notified by AT&T that since I upgraded I would be losing a $25/month discount on my Mobile Share Value Plan. So, I went back to the Apple store and did a return/repurchase (the exact same device. Didn't even have to restart it or anything) so I would still be eligible for the discount (thanks for that AT&T...).

Now, I don't remember if this started with the 8.0.2 update but I've been having screen orientation issues where the screen will randomly rotate into landscape mode when I'm holding the device vertically, or pictures I take in landscape mode will refuse to show up as such in my photo gallery, etc. I did a full restore of 8.0.2 to try and squash any bugs. Once the restore was finished I got the nice little message you see below on my iTunes screen.

Some of you may be saying big deal but I know there has been a lot of discussion on the boards about whether buying a 6/6 Plus off contract (not the T-mobile version that is advertised as unlocked) makes it unlocked. For me, I had purchased the phone on-contract (i.e. definitely not unlocked) then returned it and re-bought it off contract and voila, it was unlocked. Just FYI. Have a great night.
