Al Gore is at Cannes promoting his new documentary and here is a review of the press conference.

I've just emerged from a press conference by Al Gore, who is in Cannes to promote a documentary about his environmental campaigning.

He was an engaging speaker who occasionally drifted into rhetoric - but it was quote-worthy rhetoric.

When the conference host deferentially asked how he would like to be addressed, he responded: "Your adequacy."

He also made a point of name-checking Apple computers on a couple of occasions - and the computer firm's laptop computers are high-profile through out the film.

When the host erroneously referred to Gore's "Powerpoint presentations" Mr Gore quickly made clear he was using "Apple's Keynote program".

He later referred to "my Apple computer, with the large screen".

Why such a stickler for brand accuracy? Well, Mr Gore is a board member at Apple.

I knew he was a board member at Apple, but I never saw his role. I didn't even know if he has ever done anything for Apple. Three years later, now he has. Even if he doesn't do anything else, that's ok. :p He plugged Apple at Cannes with all the movie execs and stars there promoting his movie, and that's good enough.

Maybe if Al and Russ take over they'd make the various departments stop wasting money on machines that don't work. I'm sure Apple could help out the FBI... they need it. :)

He must have done something for Apple before now. He wouldn't get appointed just because Steve is of a similar political persuasion (Democrat), would he?

Looks like a very interesting film, if the trailer is anything to go by.

I'd change citizenship to see "Jobs/Schiller '08"

Changes made to the office in the Jobs administration:

- White House rose garden removed
- Official seal changed, is now just a silhouette of an eagle
- Decisions of past presidents no longer valid, for them to work they need to be updated
- White House repainted six times to get the correct shade of white
- Every six months previous decisions replaced with better decisions
- State of the Union address now finishes with "Oh, and there's just one more thing..."
- US dollar no longer green, $1, $5, $10 and $20 are now white, the $50 and $100 are metallic grey. You can get the $20 in black but it will cost you $25
- Oval office now a cube
- Official White House dress code is sandals with socks, jeans and black turtle-neck jumpers.
- Motto on currency no longer "E Pluribus Unum" now "Insanely Great"

Man, I could keep going all night.

Oh man...if only! I'd love to see this country run like Apple, so that you could say we are "Insanely great".

Right now we're more like Westworld, where nothing can go wrong -- go wrong -- go wrong -- go wrong -- go wrong ---

What a wonderful idea and list. I'll be dreaming about this all night. :)

I'd have some of the currency different colours like the rev. D iMacs :)

Okay -- keep in mind this is just a Photoshop hack job that I put together in an hour...

Fantastic! Good form. :)

Seriously though, between this and Gore talking about his love for hybrid cars, Gore has my vote!
