That looks great! Nice job. Are the keys from a black MacBook? Where did you get the keyboard from?

Ya they are. You can get the keys off eBay for fairly cheap.

i'm in love!
too bad i'm not nearly confident enough to try this myself. :)

It's actually pretty easy, you just have to take off each key manually by pulling on it, then taking the new key and snapping it into place. Shouldn't take more than 1/2 hour.

really? hmm... i never really thought about it, and assumed you had to take the top case off or something.

knowing this now, where does one go about getting these black keys? at, well... an affordable price?

If I buy a MBP, I might put white MB keys on it.

I like white computer things since Apple used to be all about white colors.

So what did you do with the white keys and did you break any when you took them off? Also did you have any issues putting on the new keys? I remember reading somewhere about someone who did this, and there was one key that was different.

yep yep... to be honest i had a spare black broken topcase (the ribbon tore) so i decided to do this. And i did break some of the cheap plastic things underneath the keys but patience would've saved them from breaking. Anyways, fairly easy, my fingertips were bruised the day after XD but it looks worth it

he'll be putting the white keys on ebay to continue the circle of life

lol! ya... when I tried this, I broke them too. They're called 'scissors' I believe. It's good that you had spare ones because the scissors were different on all of the MacBook keyboards. It took me forever to find the proper 'scissor' for my MacBook after I broke the other one.
