Sheesh... This happens WAY too much with my iphone 4.. full signal strength, yet no service at all until I do a hard reset.... Emails don't go, texts get hung up, nothing works..

and if I turn on airplane mode for a second and then turn it off, it just says searching and never finds a network until I restart..

detailed in pics.. note the signal strength

That's just plain horrible. Apple's false promises about the iP4 are getting tiring. Wonder what the big news conference will reveal tomorrow...

I had similar problems on my ipod touch (wifi issues) a few years back. I did a "reset all settings" and it worked great after that.

If your issue isn't the reception issue, I'd give that a shot.

This. Try network setting first, if none of that works set up as new phone.

It's not like a phone number or email address.

They're just names.

They're pretty common.

"Chris Cheeseman" perhaps not...

I was actually just having this discussion with my girlfriend yesterday. When I was 10, I was just starting on AOL 3.0 or whatever it was (in 2000). Back then, you weren't allowed to let on what your initials were, let alone first and last name, city and state you live in, etc.

Now with Facebook and even simply Google, a first/last name and city and state are common knowledge that's pretty simple to access, let alone not taboo to share on the internet now.

In 10 years, what will we be paranoid about sharing? DNA make-up? Brain mappings? I mean, what more will there be to hide at the rate of privacy-destruction (I'm not saying it's good nor bad) we're going.

I'm pretty sure this isn't related to the ip4. Do as stated above. I had the same problem on my 3G and the" reset" fixed it

If it makes you feel better, my iPad 3G is slower than hell on AT&T with full bars in my apartment. (tower down the street)

I have also had to reset my iPad about twice now, after being stuck in "search mode" like forever. I hope the new 3.2.1 version improves things.
