I was wondering how to do just this thing today to listen to my iTunes library from home on my work machine. I know I can set up a stream with other unix softwares and stuff like that but this will be much easier. At first, I was wondering if I could do it with Rendevu (how do u spell that?) but I remember Apple dissabling that feature so that you could only use it on a LAN.

Rendezvous - its French for a meeting, also used in English with the same meaning. Quite simple really, a meeting of two computer devices on a network 
Hmmm. Wouldn't this get you in trouble with the RIAA bloodhounds, since it's effectively a way to overcome the iTunes streaming limitations and set up your own Internet radio station?

NiceCast can broadcast the audio from any app in your Mac, not just iTunes. And if the app is half as good as the author's Audio Hijack Pro and Detour, it should work beautifully.
