never really bothered using it. How warm does it need to be to be better for lighting at night. I’ve noticed when waking up in the middle of the night how bright my phone screen is even when the brightness is set to zero.

Just turn it on and adjust how warm you want the screen to be in a dark room. I have mine set slightly more than half way..
