Purchased m2 last month. Finally got LG ultrafine monitor. Issue: Internet will not connect. Spoke to Apple, who said its Verizon. Verizon proved its Apple because 3 other mac devices work fine sitting right next to the m2. Then the keyboard and mouse will not respond. Thinking to just bring it to Apple. BTW Best Buy is useless.

It's a very old iiyami ProLite, with an equally old HDMI lead. What I found was that the slightest of lateral pressure on the connector (Mac end) caused my 5GHz wifi channel to disintegrate. Turn off 5GHz and I could get a slow 2.4GHz connection (stable, but slow). Spend ages trying all sorts of configurations and desk layouts. In the end I only worked it out by plugging the monitor into my 2018 Intel mini and running ping tests via screen share. No HDMI= no problem. So I was very careful when plugging it back in.

I don't think the make of monitor matters - it's the quality/ good fit of the connector. Not sure if the same thing happens with Thunderbolt, but if the wifi chip is at the back of the machine then it might (my next monitor will probably test this).

OP:

You haven't told us HOW you are connecting to the net.
Are you using ethernet or wifi?

RE the keyboard/mouse
Again, what are you using?
Best solution:
- use a WIRED keyboard
- use either a WIRED mouse or a Logitech mouse that has its own "unifying receiver".

I am saying that it is the HDMI connector that was causing the problem. Because it is old and a bit worn. It wasn't obvious because the screen still worked. But that was what caused 10-50% packet loss when 5GHz was enable on my router.

BT keyboard (apple) and mouse (Logitech), connecting via wifi (which surely you could deduce from my references to 5GHz bands - not sure why you are being so obtuse.). I *think* having soemthing (anything) pligged into the USB soc=ket next to HDMI proives a little extra sheilding but that is purely impressionistic.

I believe there may be a separate issue related to wired connection that just needs AVB/EAV to be disabled until you can get Ventura 13.2.1, but I have not tested that since, as I said, by problem was with the 5GHz band.
