My wife picked up a third party watch charging stand that charges in portrait orientation. However when charging that way, nightstand mode comes on but the alarm sound that plays is the “quiet” version that does a poor job waking her up. She wants the louder chime. I tested with my phone and got the same result. If I then turn the stand on its side and set a new alarm, it plays the loud chime. But it has to be in the landscape position.
