I just watched the keynote portion where they quickly mention "Built in support for Nike+". Does anyone know if this is specific to the 3GS or is this a feature included in the new OS 3.0 update, allowing regular 3G phones Nike+ abilities?

Would they be able to use the accelerometer? Or is a pedometer completely different
There are pedometer apps that use the accelerometer. I think the issue here is that the previous iPhones are missing some sort of radio (I think, could be something else) which communicates with the Nike+ kit.

So if the chip that was providing Nike+ on the iPod Touch is really a Bluetooth chip (unlocked via 3.0) shouldn't it work the other way as well? Maybe they were just guessing but my impression is the BT chip was doing the Nike+.
