Since iOS 7 update, the Nike+ icon disappeared from home screen. (The red Nike icon).
Did this happen to anyone else?

When I went to tap "Go to Nike+" it sent me to the Nikeplus website.

It seems they've removed the app. Either it's not ready yet, or they're pushing people to use Nike+GPS app.

It's not available in the current seed as per the release notes.

I missed that.

Does the Nike+ Running app in the App Store work with the Nike+ sensor? Does this app replace the Nike+ iOS app or is it a separate app?

Apparently it does not. See this comparison here: http://nikeplus.nike.com/plus/products/#compare_section

It seems like the Nike+ Running app uses GPS to track your runs. The app has a MotionX logo in the bottom right of the app when you launch it, so it looks like it uses that.
