am I getting anything more with Nike + or Can I just download and add to reg

Nike + model you get the sport band and the Nike watch faces. The watch faces cannot be added to a regular AW. I like the Nike+ faces, traded in my regular AW for a Nike+ watch so I could have them.

With the Nike+ watch, you get the extra watch faces, plus you can use Siri to start a run (or something like that).

Ultimately, if you like the Nike watch bands, then get the Nike watch.

For some strange reason, I feel like this question has been asked before. At least 7 or 8 times in the last few pages of threads.

For some strange reason I get the impression that people nowadays are too lazy or not empowered enough to help themselves.

But hey, what do I know?

You can do that with any Apple Watch. It's really just the band and the watch faces as has been mentioned.
I think there's something else with the Nike watch and siri. Perhaps only the Nike AW allows Siri to start a run in the NRC+ app. I recall reading something about it.

I own the Nike Watch and I am very sure about what I posted...

I also have an Nike AW. If you had a regular Series 2, what you wrote would have been more imformative. Anyways, here's what I found after a little research.

On a Nike AW, Siri will start a run using the NRC+ app. On a regular AW, Siri will start a run using the Apple Workout app.

While not a big difference between the two, if you exclusively use one app vs. the other, it might sway your decision.

NOTE - I don't know if they've changed it on the S3 versions to allow Siri to start runs on either NRC or Workout.

Here's a LINK to the Apple Support page describing the differences. (NOTE - this was back in the fall of 2016)

I personally think the additional watch faces alone is worth getting the Nike+ edition.
These Nike faces gives you many special colors (goes well with more different color bands and clothes), which pair with the Nike font that actually looks good too.

this is a tad annoying because I have the Nike watch, but only ever use the internal app because it does everything I need it to and is less buggy than other apps I've tried. Actually I only tried the Nike app once, and have previously used ismoothrun with no problems at all, but the native one has everything I need

Have you found a way to export your runs/ activities to other sites like strava or Garmin? I use ismoothrun for this, won’t use the native app until I can export my data.

Try RunGap. It can definitely access apple workout data. You might need to pay for the 3-month swag to get good export options.
What’s every ones thought on the Nike app
It works. It's free. It has a web interface. That's about it for positives. The negatives are many.

If your data isn't already with Nike, don't start. I'm about to switch to ismoothrun

Something I haven't seen mentioned is that about half of the non-Nike watchfaces include the Volt color option on the Nike AW. If you like the color, like I do, the extra color option is nice to have for other watchfaces.

I personally believe that you lose nothing by getting the Nike watch, other than if you don't like the band options. But the watch itself has nothing taken away, only additions, from the regular version.

Can you still use the Strava app on the Nike watch or do you have to use NRC?
Might be a silly question but thought i would check.
Thanks.

Get the Nike+ as the bands are better for working out. I never use the extra faces though as I personally think they're really ugly, but other people like them.

I find this thread interesting, I’m a runner and I currently have the SS series 0 Apple Watch I’m looking at upgrading to a Series 3, the only thing that puts me off the regular and Nike Watch is the fact that the screen is not Sapphire and it’s made from aluminium, doesn’t that mean it’s more likely to get damaged?

My SS series 1 has a few scratches on it but otherwise it’s in great condition. Wish they did a Nike Apple Watch that was made from SS either the black or the normal SS would be great.

Why not just buy the Space Black SS and a Nike band?

While it would effectively function virtually the same, this SS/Nike Band combination would not get the exclusive Nike+ watch faces. Also, asking Siri to start a run will open in AW Workout vs. NRC.

Neither are a big deal in my opinion. I don't like the Nike watch faces and I don't use Siri to start runs. So the only real issue would be not wanting to spend the extra $50 for a watch band.

The watch faces are awful though... Personal opinion obviously, but they are lol

I could do this if all the Nike one offers is the extra watch faces, does the SS black version still use the diamond coating to make it less scratchable than the normal SS?

My series 0 still works but I’m thinking of upgrading for better battery life and the series 3 being better for work out’s/run’s.

Yep, still has the DLC.
