Since Nike doesn't allow exporting its data to other apps, is there a reliable workaround to export data to Strava?

I came across RunGap, but can anyone confirm if it works well for that purpose?

P.S.: since Strava can import data from Health app, why wouldn't it be able to import NRC data from Health as well then?

I've been wondering this too. is it not easier to use workout app or strata app, or is there something specific that you need in NRC?

The reason I keep using NRC is because I like its awards and achievements badges, colored levels and also its UI on Apple Watch. And not to mention, Strava doesn't even provide music controls / music player in the app. Lame.

On Strava’s support site they mention a few options of importing NRC data into Strava:

At this time, there is no official sync service between Nike and Strava, however, there are a number of 3rd party solutions built by developers using the Strava API. Here are some sync services recommended by our community:

My question is, which of the above options is actually the safest and most reliable, but also not expensive? (By safest, I mean in terms of privacy etc). I don’t really want to be paying any subscription fee for an app like that.

It seems that RunGap requires a yearly subscription of 10.99 eur. Or 3 months for 3.99 eur…

you can pair your Nike run club data with garmin or polar apps (Nikes official partners, there might be a third as well but I can’t remember). This is probably the safest way to do it as they are officially supported.

I’m not sure if it will go all the way back though. I have mine paired but can’t remember if it synced everything back or if I got all my history from rungap before Nike locked people out. I’d recommend trying one of those services first. You have to select the partner from within nike run club app to sync them with the other service. I used garmin connect when I did it.

And those apps are free so no harm in trying them first.

Thanks for your suggestion, but I don’t have any Garmin or Polar device. Would it actually work by just installing the Garmin Connect app and pairing it with NRC?

EDIT: I tried installing and linking Garmin & Polar apps with NRC now, but no runs have synced. So it seems it won't work for the previous workouts. I assume if all goes well, it should then start syncing the runs from this point on?

Another question I have is: if after each run NRC syncs the data with Garmin and Polar, and then these two upload to Strava, will that result in triple or quadruple workout data in my iPhone Fitness app??

For example, I noticed that if I manually insert a workout into e.g. Strava after completing the workout in another app, Apple will count it as a double workout...

I did a run with NRC today and it didn't export it to Garmin or Polar apps, even though they were linked with NRC. So apparently you can only export runs done in Garmin or Polar to NRC and not vice-versa.

The RunGap app will pick up workouts from Nike Run Club and push them to Strava or wherever else you want them to go.

You are correct the Nike to Garmin link is from Garmin app to Nike App. Not the other way around.

What's funny is that Adidas Running (Runtastic) app, which I've had installed on my iPhone for ages, seamlessly imports all of my workouts on its own - NRC included. If they can do it, why can't other apps like Strava do it?!

I decided to give HealthFit app a try, which is a one-time $4.99 and it seems to import even NRC workouts, which you can then export to Strava!

There are a few caveats, though:

1. The map is missing (it says No GPS Data)

2. No Elevation Gain/Loss info

3. Average Cadence seems off: for example it’s 169 in NRC and 161 in HealthFit, but that's not really a biggie.

So it's a decent (though not perfect) workaround if you want to export your data to Strava but don't want to be paying a subscription fee. Also, the app seems to provide really neat analysis of your Health data, moreso than the clunky Health app.
