Just saw this earlier on espn wow not sure what i think it brings a good point but kinda classles and disturbing to use some one A. Extremly close to him and B. Some one who's dead. I really hope this doesnt get played to long anyway.. what are your guys thoughts..

It definitely generated some emotion in me. What exactly I felt, I'm still trying to figure that out.

I will say this - Nike has one of the best advertising teams on the planet.

I'd fell better if I knew Tiger gave permission to play that clip I know how his father was close to him and all but if not i find that a lil Classless esp since Nike stayed with Tiger..

There's no way Nike would do that without Tiger's consent. Or at least I'd like to think so.

^^^^Agreed. That had Tiger's people's fingerprints all over it.

That was bizarre.

I guess it's supposed to humanize Tiger, but it didn't have that effect on me. It seemed extremely manipulative, and in a very obvious way.

Thumbs down.

Enough with the apologies, for crying out loud. Tiger's image is tarnished beyond repair. He should embrace his new image as a "bad boy" and run with it. He'd probably end up being more popular in the long run.

I liked the ad. It would lose some punch if the viewer didnt recognize that the voice was his father though. If you know it is Earl, then you can recognize that it is a father "lecturing" his son over his wrong doing. How many of us can remember after screwing up, our parents asking us "Did you learn anything?"

But then again, I was a Tiger fan, and remain a Tiger fan. I like the guy because he plays golf better than anyone I have ever seen in my lifetime. I dont care what sort of role model he is, so his transgressions have no bearing on my fandom.

He's a celebrity. He's gonna cheat. I'm not naive enough to be bothered by that. But his transgressions bother me as a guy. Here's a dude that can fool around with any woman on the planet, and instead he picks the trashiest skanks known to man. I mean, I think I picked up VD just mentioning them in this post.

I didn't see it as any kind of apology. More along the lines of Nike saying to Tiger get your stuff together and maybe we might use you again.

Unless Tiger is pure evil there's no way he would manipulate his dead father for a 20 sec. spot that probably didn't give him any where near the amount of money he used to get from Nike.

I liked the commercial. I'm in marketing myself (higher ed.) and it's always interesting to see what "solutions" people come up with to marketing problems. That ad is quite daring and honest and I appreciate that.

I don't see his father's voice as coming "from the grave" to lecture him. We always talk about people who've died and say, "They'll be with me always." Likewise Tiger's father is always with him, giving his support, his wise counsel and an occasional kick in the pants.

The one thing Tiger is doing is owning up: this is who I am; I vow to improve and become a better person; judge me as you will.

Thumbs up.

???

So his father is not proud of his philandering son?

I understand what they were going for, but I think they missed...

But its gutsy as I'll get out.

I would never buy anything he sponsors nor would I bother watching his act on the fairway; he disappointed his fans, young golfers, and the entire golf fraternity. Disgusting seeing him already trying to profit off his immorality, and using his deceased father to do it. Reprehensible.

Although I personally could care less, the ad is doing what it's supposed to do: Get attention for Nike, for Tiger, and lots of press for Augusta. however sham it's "chastising" of Woods is, any press is good press.

I could not care less about Tiger or his shenanigans. He's a golfer. His life does not impact me and shouldn't have an impact on anyone else (other people he actually knows), either. I'm just sick of all the fake apologies.

He had affairs; loads of them. Who cares? It's no ones business but him and his wife's. Felt sick the other day when people on TV were talking about it with such emotion as if he was actually their husband.

It's no ones business!

Exactly it is between him and her. It has no place to be in the news, don't they have more important things to cover?

I have to give this a big, who gives a ****?

Exactly. It's not like he broke any laws or anything. So he ****ed a bunch of people. WHO CARES? It's between him and his family. I'm sick and tired of hearing about it.

Well, yes they do, but 25 dead coal miners or nuclear weapons treaties with Russia doesn't bring in the viewers like a celebrity ****ing a bunch of strippers and porn stars does

Are you kidding? Skanks and hos know how to have a good time.

watched the comecial again i do kinda get what it is trying to say but i think im still surprised Tiger would use his dad. I'm hoping Tiger does pretty well this weekend I'd be shock if he wins but i expect a top 10 perhaps.
