It dosen't list it on the site that it works, but is there a download or plug in to make it work? If not, will iPhoto 5 still take the pictures from the camera?

Almost certainly yes.
You bought it yet? If so just plug it in. I'm pretty sure if image capture can see it, iPhoto should work.
I have not seen a DigiCam that didn't!
