I recently bought a Nikon P7000 from Amazon for 200ish Dollars. The one thing that bothers me is the zoom lens control occasionally becomes unresponsive and requires reset by powering off and powering on. This this normal? If not, I'm going to exchange the device. If it is, then I'm going exchange it. Can any p7000 owners help me? Thank you for taking the time to answer my question. -CM

I've only had mine for a week, but have not had that problem. I seem to remember reading that some had the zoom problem, so you might want to do a google search. On an another note, the P7000 has had 2 firmware updates since it was originally released. Mine came with 1.1 (which was the first update) and I've since updated to 1.2. You might want to try the firmware update (it's easy to do) before you make your decision. Maybe the zoom problem was one of the issues addressed in that update. (I updated my P7000 before I ever used it, so I don't know if this is the case). Hope this helps some.
