Nissan Connect stereo trouble with iPhone 6s

Is there any other Nissan owners experiencing a problem with their iPhone connection?

I like the bluetooth features for calling, displaying text messages and using Siri, but when I plug into usb, none of the bluetooth features work.

I also use apple music and when I play an apple music playlist over USB, it starts 'indexing iPod' over and over again. What is it trying to index? The entire apple music library? Is there any way I can shut this indexing feature off?
