Every once in a while, my year-old stock 6-core nMP (D500, 16GB RAM, 256GB SSD) has begun to exhibit the following behavior.

The screen (Apple TB Display) will go blank for a second or less and then come right back. It's not really affecting me since it doesn't happen that often, and it is literally like the blink of an eye. I'm just concerned that it might be a sign of trouble down the road...?

I had this issue when I had two daisy chained Thunderbolt displays connected to Late 2012 Mac mini i7 (Intel HD4000).

I found out later that the issue was different firmware versions of the displays, because both of the worked fine standalone. One was 26,2 and the other i think 22.something. Later, I had opportunity to test two displays with 26,2 firmware on mini and all was well.

One more thing, those two different displays had problems on two more different macs (Late 2012 Mac mini i5 and Early 2011 13" MBP).

As far as I know Apple fixed this:

Thanks for the response and the link! I already have that firmware version installed. I've got 3 yrs warranty on this so if it starts to get worse, I have lots of time left on its AppleCare contract.
