nMP - HDMI vs DVI+TB

Hi,

I have Mac Pro 2013 and the display I use has both HDMI and DVI connectors.

Does anyone know if there is any disadvantage to using HDMI connection as opposed to DVI->TB->nMP ?

I have a spare HDMI cable lying around, but in order to use DVI I need to buy a $30 adapter, so I'm trying to decide whether it is needed or not.
